Junior Board of Directors
Aidan Tysinger (Junior Board President) is a 17 year old going to Alamance Community College in the career and college promise program. He has been involved with Studio 1 since the beginning and has loved every minute of it. Most of his hobbies include being at the studio doing shows, which is his passion. He hopes to one day be on Broadway and thanks the studio as well as Ms. Kress for helping him to hopefully one day get there.
Dre Alcantar is a Junior at Eastern Alamance High School. She loves to indulge in many artistic activities, including theater. Her favorite roles include 'Ching Ho' in Thoroughly Modern Millie, performed by Eastern's theater club, 'Erzule' in Once on this Island, performed by Studio 1's summer camp, and 'Narrator' in Aladdin, performed by ACT. She wishes to major in performance when she heads to college, for it is soon to come.
Shannon Clemente is a sophomore at Western Alamance High School. She loves Studio 1 and has been involved with the organization since she was a very young girl. Singing and performing have always been a big part of her life. Shannon is excited to have the opportunity to give back and be a part of the wonderful opportunities that Studio 1 provides for her community. She has been in various shows with Studio 1 including Lion King jr, Broadway Bound, Monster Mash, and others.
Keriann Croy (Junior Board Secretary) is 15 years old and attends Williams High School. She was in 2nd grade when she fell in love with theatre and now it is one of her passions. Some of her favorite roles were Lea Strauss in Strauss, Young Tarzan in Disney’s Tarzan, Bielke in Fiddler on the Roof, and Tiger Lily in Disney Peter Pan Jr. She has been Assistant Stage Manager for the shadow production at Studio 1 four years in a row and it is her favorite show each year. She aspires to be an author and actress. She is active in her church, school and community. Keriann is thankful for the opportunity to be a member of the Jr. Board and be more involved at Studio 1.
Timothy Duggins is a 10th grade homeschool student who loves theater. He has only been apart of studio 1 for a year and is new to the junior board but is excited to be more involved with studio 1 and to work with new people. Some of his productions include Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, The Drowsy Chaperone, and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Outside of theater he like camping, singing, dancing, and tap. He also enjoys volunteering with Hope Kids at Hope church.
Nevy Fisher is a 13-year-old 7th grader at Western Alamance Middle School. Nevy loves all things theater and performing on stage. Nevy has performed in many Studio 1 and Alamance Children’s Theatre productions since she was 7 years old. Her favorite roles have been Susie (a folly girl) in Crazy for You, Annie in Annie, Jr, Mabel Washington in Fame, Jr, Puck in William’s Women and the Ugly Duckling in Shrek the Musical. Nevy loves to read and listen to Broadway music. She also enjoys taking theater dance classes at Studio 1. She is very honored to be a part of the Studio 1 Junior Board and looks forward to supporting all that Studio 1 does!
Hollyann Gardner is a 18-year-old senior at Alamance Community College. She has been in several different Studio 1 productions including The Secret Garden as Claire Holmes, Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, and the Yellow Wallpaper woman in Twisted Tales. Hollyann hopes to attend college for theatre in the fall of 2020. She is honored to serve on the Junior Board and hopes to be involved for years to come.
Mae Gardner is a currently-homeschooled 10th grader, but plans to transfer to Alamance Community College for her junior year. Her love of performing surfaced when she was six years old and began dancing at Walkerdance Ballet Theatre. She has now danced in the company’s production of The Nutcracker ten times, once starring as Clara and also as the Snow Queen this past year. She caught the theater bug in 2017 after watching a production of Beauty and the Beast, and has since performed in eight theater productions, her favorite roles being Elaine the Folly in ACT’s Crazy For You, and the Baroness in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr. with Studio 1. She is honored to be on the Studio 1 Junior Board, and hopes to benefit this life-changing organization as much as possible!
Izzy Kress is an 8th grade home schooler. Izzy loves to be on stage and loves being at the theatre. Izzy has been seen in many productions; Storyteller in Once On This Island, ensemble in The Music Man, Mrs. Phillips and car in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Dancer in Fame. Her latest roll story teller in Poe. Her favorite role is Little Beaver in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe at Studio 1. She wants to thank her family for being a "cool" theatre family.
Emily Leiser (Head of Games and Events) is a senior at The Burlington School. She was most recently seen in Be More Chill, and Hamlet at Studio 1. Past shows include Peter/Wendy, William’s Women, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mary Poppins, The Lion King, Our Town, Pirates of Penzance, Attack of the Zombies, and Mulan. Emily has enjoyed being a camp counselor at Studio 1 this past summer, and choreographing for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Frog and Toad, and Fame. She is a choreographer for Broadway Bound.
Joshua Leiser is a freshman at The Burlington School. Some of his favorite roles include Peter in Peter/Wendy, Ralphie in A Christmas Story the Musical, Young Abel in Children of Eden, Franz Strauss in Strauss, Mr. Mayor in Suessical, and Timon in The Lion King. Past shows include Romeo and Juliet, Ragtime, The Music Man, Shrek, Our Town, Once on this Island, Pirates of Penzance, Attack of the Zombies, Mulan, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Cayden Matthews is a 16 year old at the Alamance Burlington Early College. He started participating with theatre in August of 2017 and has been an active member of the theatre since. He has done multiple Studio 1 productions since he began theatre. Studio 1 has since became a very important part of his life and is very happy to be able to work so directly with the Studio to help it grow and continue to change lives.
Sam McDonald is 15 years old and is attending Eastern Alamance High School. Sam has been involved with Studio 1 since he was eight years old attending summer camps. He has learned many skills and made many friends while performing and helping with productions. His favorite role was Timon in Lion King Jr. Sam looks forward to being part of the Jr. board and more many productions.
Max McDonald is a 15 year old freshman attending Eastern Alamance High School. He has been involved in productions by ACT and Studio 1 and is exiting to be a part of the Junior board. His favorite Studio 1 role was Pumbaa from The Lion King Jr. Outside of theater he enjoys video games and his pets.
Sydney Pereira is a senior at Western Alamance High School. This is her third year being a part of the Junior Board at Studio 1. She has been a part of 27 productions and hopes to be a part of many more, as she plans on pursuing a career in musical theatre in her approaching adulthood. Outside of theatre, she enjoys singing with her high school’s premiere co-ed a cappella group, WA Cappella, in which she serves as assistant music director, and taking tap classes here at Studio 1. Studio 1 has become a huge part of her life and she cannot wait for you to see all it has to offer.
Caleb Rivera is a 17-year-old senior at Bradford Academy in Mebane. He has been doing shows with Studio 1 for the last two years. Theater is so much more than acting. Actors learn self-confidence, leadership skills, self-discipline, the ability to work under pressure, flexibility, and too many other skills to name. Caleb is thankful to be a part of the Studio 1 family. He is humbled to serve on the junior board. It's going to be a great adventure!
Madelyn Tubiolo (Head of Advertisement) is a 17 year old 12th grader at Alamance Community College in the Career and College Promise Program. She’s been doing shows at the studio since her freshman year and it has changed her life. She gained a lot of confidence and friends with doing shows and camps here and hopes to give back to the studio as much as it has given to her.
Vanessa Velazquez is a 17 year old at Williams high school. Vanessa first got involved with Studio 1 when she started taking piano & voice with Tami and soon started auditioning and being in plays soon after. She has done a couple shows and camps at studio one and comes to all shows to show support. Vanessa loves and supports the junior board and Studio 1 because she truly thinks Studio 1 is one of the happiest places on earth!
